The Jewish Progressive Federation of Spain launched the leadership development program in Santiago de Compostella, on the 24th-26th of May, 2019. This is a half year program that will be concluded in Rota, in November.

The 24th General Assembly of the Union of Progressive Jews in Germany (UpJ, Union progressive Juden) has opened in Karlovy Vary, a town in the Czech Republic, on May 30, 2019. For the first time ever 350 delegates from 26 Jewish communities spent the weekend in a European partner country to network with Czech Jewry.

On Wednesday eve, May 29, the World Union for Progressive Judaism welcomed guests from the UK, Israel, Europe and South Africa to its annual International Humanitarian Award Dinner honoring visionary global Jewish leaders and advocates Dee and Leslie Bergman and Marion and Stanley Bergman.

To support, connect and help develop the Progressive Judaism in Ukraine, a group of the Northwood and Pinner Liberal Synagogue (UK) spent last Shabbat with the congregations of Lviv (Teiva) and Lutsk.

The 2019 Consultation on Conscience brang together Jewish congregational and communal leaders and built meaningful connections, learning and expanding the skills needed for social change, and deepen the knowledge of critical issues facing the north american communities.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bella Hirsch, wife of Rabbi Richard (Dick) Hirsch, Honorary Life President of the World Union for Progressive Judaism.

On the 8th of May, 2019, Bnei Sefarad Reform congregation of Valencia, Spain celebrated with great joy and much excitement the donation of the Torah scroll written in Sephardic script, made by the congregation Shir Ami, Newtown, PA, USA.

We are very pleased to welcome the Beth El Congregation – one of the oldest Congregations in Latin America – to the World Union family.

Ec Chajim held its inaugural Kabbalat Shabbat service and dinner at the Hotel Modré Růže Blue Rose Hotel in Prague . About 120 people aged between one and 91, attended the event.

The World Union mourns the passing of Rabbi Harry Jacobi, a formative figure in the founding and growth of Liberal Judaism in the UK and Europe on April 24th, at the age of 93.
