In her own words, Noa Abrahams, Mazkira (Chairperson) of Netzer Melbourne, shares highlights and reflections on their week-long Netzer winter camp which welcomed 120 chanichim/ot (participants) ages 3-12 by 20 counselors.

[AUSTRALIA] Summer Camp Success in the Time of Corona

uring the recent summer in Australia, Netzer Olami snifim (branches) in Sydney and Melbourne managed to host two successful – and safety compliant – summer camps for close to 190 children and youth with 35 counselors. MachaNetzer, for seniors, ran from January 6-12 and  MachaNoar, for junior campers, ran from January 19-23. Summer camps in Sydney were held at Emanuel Synagogue and North Shore Temple Emanuel and summer camps in Melbourne were held at the King David School, TempleBeth Israel and a campsite.

[FRANCE] When Leadership is From the Heart: Tamar and ARZENU Young Leadership Seminar

More than 60 young adults from the global Progressive movement from 14 countries came together for a weekend of learning, networking, sharing and growing together in Marseilles, France. The seminar was sponsored by both the WZO and Keren Kayemeth LeIsrael-Jewish National Fund, Arzenu and Tamar Olami. We were generously hosted by Union Liberale Israelite de France (ULIF), Communite de Marseille for our opening event on Thursday evening, where we enjoyed a meal, and some TED Talks about innovation, political homelessness and veganism in Israel.

[BELARUS] Netzer FSU Conference Forges New Lessons From Shared Wisdom

On October 31 to November 2, close to 60 youth and young adults came together in Belarus for a Netzer, Reform Zionist youth movement, conference. With students of the University of Moscow in attendance, participants explored ways to advance Netzer in the coming years, including strengthening current projects in communities in the region, and developing new ones to meet growing needs among the next generation.

[ENGLAND] Mega-Fest Brings Together UK and Israel Netzernikim for Learning, Sharing and Building New Relationships

On July 25-28, 130 RSY-Netzer Madrichim gathered in Kettering, England for what would become an incredibly special and memorable event. Taking place just before our Summer Machanot began, Mega-Fest is a time for all of the madrichim of the movement to come together, learn from top-quality educators from the UK and Israel, and workshop their peulot (activities), together with these educators.

This year, in honor of Israel’s Holocaust Remembrance Day (Yom HaShoah) on May 1, we are asking our leaders, congregations, and youth movement members and graduates worldwide – and everyone who stands against the prevalence of hatred and incitement online – to report six incidents of hatred on social media.
