“Comunidad Judía ATID de Cataluña exists thanks to Rabbi Richard Hirsch, President of The World Union for Progressive Judaism at the time of our foundation.
When I first met him – many years ago in New York – he encouraged and motivated me to create a Jewish Progressive Community in Barcelona. We did it with a group of six couples and all his support. Since, he has always asked me about how ATID was growing.
All of us who have met him will never forget his vision and charisma.
The founding families proposed to Congregation ATID’s Board of Directors to install a commemorative plaque in his memory.
Please extend our most sincere condolences to his family.
