Rosh Hashanah – 5786

As the new year 5786 approaches, our hearts carry both light and weight.
We cannot ignore the pain of those still held in captivity, the uncertainty within Israel and Gaza, or the rise of antisemitism around the world. These shadows are real, and they touch every one of us.

Yet Rosh Hashanah is a reminder that even in times of turmoil, we are asked to pause, to breathe, and to begin again. It calls us not only to look inward, but also to reach outward — to strengthen the bonds of community, to bring dignity into our actions, and to hold fast to the belief that renewal is always possible.

This year, more than ever, we are invited to act with courage:
to choose compassion over fear, solidarity over isolation, and responsibility over silence. Each gesture of care, each voice raised for justice, each effort to nurture Jewish life across the globe becomes part of a greater chorus of hope.

May 5786 be a year in which we dare to imagine differently — a year of healing, of pride in our Judaism, of peace for our people and for the world. And may those still waiting to come home be embraced once again by their families.

Shanah Tovah — may sweetness, strength, and resilience be with us all.
