Carole Sterling and Walter Homolka at the Dedication Ceremony of new Building for Abraham Geiger College“It is from here that we shall continue the enormous task of contributing to the renaissance of German and European Jewish life & learning,” said WUPJ chair Carole Sterling at the dedication of the new building of Abraham Geiger College and the School of Jewish Theology in Potsdam on 23 April. She conveyed the thanks from the WUPJ for the support that progressive Judaism has received in Germany and in the State of Brandenburg especially over the last two decades.

Many guests of honor joined her in wishing the building project well, including WUPJ Executive Board member Sharene Hambur and WUPJ COO Eyal Ronder as well as the vice president of the Central Council of

Jews in Germany, government officials, and senior clergy. College rector Rabbi Walter Homolka explained that the conversion of the listed building complex to university use is to be completed in fall 2019, with a construction budget of $12 million.
