Congratulations
All of us connected with the World Union for Progressive Judaism in 45 countries and 1200 communities around the world, join in joyful songs of praise in honor of the announcement that Rabbi Miri Gold of Kibbutz Gezer will become the first non-Orthodox rabbi in the history of the State to receive government recognition and funding for her salary.
The importance of this moment is immeasurable. Years of struggle, court cases, op-ed essays, intense lobbying, sermons delivered in countries around the world, pressure from communities outside of Israel and, most of all, the intense efforts of our Israel Religious Action Center have brought us to this historic plateau.
Mazel Tov to Rabbi Gold and to all who have made it possible!
May we go from strength to ever greater strength until all legitimate expressions of Jewish religious practice enjoy full equality in the Jewish State.

President
