A World of Connections
Looking for a burst of inspiration or a unique and meaningful way to spend some time abroad? Meet new friends and reconnect with old acquaintences while taking part in interesting programs with exciting and inspiring speakers at one of our upcoming regional biennials: Choose from Israel or Johannesburg (South Africa) in June, Buenos Aires (Argentina) or Berlin (Germany) in August, Sydney (Australia) or Moscow (Russia) in October, and more.
Or perhaps you would like to spend the High Holy Days with a reform congregation in an enticing/exotic location, or just to feel at home, away from home, when you go on your next vacation?
There are over 1,200 congregations which are part of our global family. They would gladly open their hearts and doors to visitors from other places. If you are planning a trip abroad, why not add this special component to your holiday or better yet, base yourself around it.
From Aruba to Rome, from Wellington to Shanghai, from San Diego to Paris, from St. Petersburg to Haifa, there is always a welcoming community nearby.
Connections 2009, in Jerusalem
Go to our World Union website (www.wupj.org) for basic information about the Reform/Progressive congregations in the places you are traveling. Write to our Jerusalem office (wupjis@wupj.org.il) for more details and we will be happy to help you connect with our communities abroad.
Most Reform/Progressive congregations around the world are quite conscious about security matters and it is therefore advisable to establish contact with them before arriving. We would be happy to help you connect with members of these communities to make your Shabbat visit that much more enjoyable.
And don’t forget the most exciting opportunity of them all – Connections 2013, the 36th WUPJ International Conference, "Being the Difference", will take place 1-5 May, 2013 in Jerusalem. Make sure you save these dates now.
A world of global Reform and Progressive Jewry awaits you. Go ahead and make the connection!
