Special Report: Year of Renewal in the FSU

I hope you enjoy reading this e-newsletter focused on the accomplishments of and challenges faced by World Union’s communities in the Former Soviet Union. The past year has been a very exciting one with the opening of new centers in Moscow and St. Petersburg and the purchase of property for a new center in Minsk. We have just completed a truly inspiring, creative and diverse summer camp program involving nearly 1000 youth. Our communities continue to grow, despite significant financial challenges, and to make connections with other Progressive communities around the world. All of this has happened thanks to the dedication, hard work and commitment of our professional staff, and in particular, our FSU Director Alex Kagan and the FSU Committee.

It is an honor to chair World Union’s FSU Committee.  This group of lay leadership from around the world continues to step up and develop innovative ways to promote and support the work of our professionals.  You will read about one such opportunity below, the Smiles for Miles program, an easy way for everyone to get involved and support our dynamic communities in the Former Soviet Union.  I encourage your participation in this program, and I welcome your thoughts, ideas and feedback on this newsletter.

May our FSU communities go from strength to strength.
